Truth?

This post is with reference to an earlier post. It was rather naive of me to feel the way I did in that particular post but I still feel quite strongly about the principles it was talking about. It was also a moment of craziness so yeah.

Such principles as doing your best in whatever you do I feel are very relevant to the corporate world and should really be practised. In the SAF however I feel it is a different story. I do not intend to pass on defamatory remarks about such an established organization, I just want to air my views on working within the organization. I am in no way criticizing the SAF as I have utmost respect for its cause although there are many people within it who leave much to be desired...

Basically there is little point in working so hard in there. The harder you work, the more shit you get thrown at you. Sure you could probably get improved allowances and off days and all but I don't feel it is worth the amount of work (and risk)required to earn it. The key here is to work smart and do only what is neccessary when the right people are watching. In many cases, how hard you work amounts to little as there are plenty of assholic people within who really have an inferiority complex and overcome it by using their rank to bully others. These people are simply retarded morons who would not survive long outside in the corporate world. Of course there are many such people in the corporate world who are just like that, but there is however one big difference. Outside you an just pack your bags and quit if it proves too much to bear. Within this organization however, we have no choice but to serve our 2 years. What's more, you are not only bound by civillian law but by military law as well, and military law is not something you would want to play with. Many a time, your fate is subject to the whims and fancies of egoistic superiors who are just asking to get whacked outside. Bottomline is, we don't have a choice.

Work hard and you get more responsibilities with little credit if any at all. Not happy about the lack of credit for your work? Quit? AWOL? Yeah we still lan lan have to serve, subject to the whims and fancies of some. There's little point...
